Play it again

Music is in the air all week at Imaginosity and we are welcoming maestros both big and small to take part in a series of workshops that cover rhythm, song and musical memory!  On August 10th and 11th we are also delighted to be welcoming Dabbledoo Music, who will facilitate two workshops that will bring visual art together with music in an interactive experience for families.  As always, spaces in workshops are limited and we recommend booking in advance at all times when visiting Imaginosity.  For more information on the workshops, have a look at our calendar of events.

Global Day of Play 2013, October 5th & 6th

As part of the Global Day of Play we are holding a cardboard challenge inspired by Caine's Arcade. Caine was a 9 year old boy who created an arcade out of cardboard in his Dad's garage in California, he offered prizes and built a ticket system in the hope that people would come and play with him. A film maker, attracted to the story, organised a flash mob to play at the arcade and so the story began……At Imaginosity, we will be encouraging children to work together to create their own cardboard city. Throughout the day, children will be able to drop into our building workshop, to imagine and create their own architectural structure to add to our growing 'city'. When finished with their architectural creations, the children can get moving and play some 'street games' in their burgeoning metropolis.

Music Monsters Programme at Imaginosity

Music Monsters aims to introduce young children to music. The course embraces traditional concepts of Montessori teaching alongside musical pedagogical methods and modern material to produce an up-to-date exciting engaging programme for children aged 2 to 4.5 years.

The Music Monsters Programme covers rhythms, dynamics, pitch, timbre and melody. Children & parents will learn about music in an exciting, interactive way; inspiring confidence & creativity for our pre-schoolers.

Bairbre Carmody will be facilitating this programme. Bairbre is an accomplished, professional musician with a particular experience & expertise in working with pre-school children. Bairbre has successfully led several music programmes at Imaginosity, with extremely positive feedback every time. We are thrilled to have her back with us at Imaginosity.

Our next 6 week course will run from the 9th of November. The classes take place every Friday from 10am or 11am and consists of a half hour class and an hour play in the museum. The course is €60 for an adult and a child. Please contact 01 2176130 to book in as places are strictly limited!
