**Please note if you have vouchers you must book in over the phone on 01 2176130**
Parents and Children
Please note that we have a minimum entry requirement ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children. Please ensure you have the required number of adults for your visit.
Imaginosity is designed for adults and children to use together. Therefore we have a strict policy of "no children without adults, and no adults without children".
Families are invited to use the Cafe on the first floor (During timed-ticketing sessions, your visit to the Cafe must happen within your 2-hour visit). Unfortunately we cannot allow you to visit the cafe before OR after your allocated session time. Please note that children cannot be left unsupervised on the floor while you visit the Cafe.
Imaginosity operates a 'timed ticketing' system during school and seasonal holidays, bank holidays, Fridays, weekends and other busy periods.
During these times a minimum visit of 2 hours will be guaranteed. When the two-hour visit comes to an end, all visitors will be asked to exit the building. If you wish to use the Cafe, during timed-ticketing, you must use it within your two-hour visit, and not after.
The 2 hour sessions begin at the following times:
- Monday: 1.30pm and 3.30pm
- Tuesday - Friday: 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 10.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 4.00pm
- Visitors will not be re-admitted once they leave the building during these times.
All Imaginosity workshops operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Workshops that take place in the Art Studio have a limited capacity. It is best to check with reception on your arrival for further details. Check out our workshop calendar here.
*Some tips to get the most from your visit
*Take your time
Imaginosity houses 2.5 floors of interactive exhibits covering over 7,800 sq. ft. It is a big place, especially for our smaller visitors, so our advice would be to take your time. The more time that your child spends in a particular exhibit, the more engaged they can become.
*Follow your child's lead
Children often surprise us with their interests. Observe your child during your visit. What activities does she enjoy most? What catches her attention? And what activity or exhibit keeps her attention for the longest? These observations can help you to understand and appreciate your child's development, as they grow.
*Consider turning off your mobile phone
Your child will really benefit from your undivided attention while you are visiting the museum. Making time for play is important for grown-ups too, and important for your relationship with your child.
Imaginosity is a special place for children and their significant adult. You are your child's first and most important play partner and teacher. Roll up your sleeves, get messy, get involved, explore, create, discover and imagine..........................but most of all, have fun together!!
Some Practical Advice for your Visit
Clothes & Shoes
Wear comfortable clothes and consider bringing a change of clothes for those messy art workshops. Learning can be messy and gooey! Imaginosity does supply waterproof aprons and smocks for art workshops. We request that all visitors keep their shoes on throughout their visit.
Our staff are on-hand throughout the museum to assist, guide and inform. Our own Imaginosity Staff wear pink, purple or blue t-shirts (on colder days you may see them wearing officially Imaginosity hoodies). You will also see Volunteers on the museum floor wearing navy t-shirts. And finally, you will also notice our 'Interns' wearing green t-shirts. We would ask for your patience with our 'Interns'; they are part of our very successful international internship programme and are learning valuable skills on the floor, as well as contributing positively to Imaginosity through participation in other areas.
Imaginosity operates a strict policy in relation to lost children. If you have lost a child or have found a lost child, please contact a member of staff immediately.
