Imaginosity Children's Museum Performance Area
The Imaginosity Children's Museum Theatre offers children the opportunity to engage in role-play, improvisational drama and more formally directed theatre, engaging the talent of performers both young and old. Simple props invite children to perform a wide variety of ad hoc plays for onlookers
- Try on costumes, put on make-up, interact with the props, change the scenery, operate the lights, and create your own stories.
Our backdrops change seasonally and each theme provides props and specific story and experience inspires imaginative, creative activity around that particular theme:
- Enchanted Woodland,
- Classic Castle,
- By the Sea and
- Outer Space
Be A Rock Star!
Do you want to be a rock star; part of a band; dance with your friends in our music corner? Why not put on a costume, grab a guitar and watch yourself and others perform on the big screen. Choose your scene and watch yourself perform with virtual instruments!

The Importance of Dramatic Play
The art of drama and theatre are rooted in the natural play of childhood. Drama is a powerful teaching and learning tool with positive consequences for a child's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. The benefits of dramatic play spill over into all school subjects and everyday life. Drama develops skills such as concentration, imagination, cooperation, collaboration, language and lsitening. These abilities yield positive benefits such as self-confidence, empathy, and communication skills, which are invaluable in every part of life, particularly in interactions with others.
